1. Who We Are

Aggro Games is an independent game studio based in Quebec, Canada, operated as a sole proprietorship. We develop and publish video games, including Scales of Silence. This Privacy Policy applies to all websites operated by Aggro Games (including aggrogames.com and scalesofsilence.com) and to our games and related services.

Privacy Officer: The person responsible for the protection of personal information at Aggro Games is reachable at aggrogamesofficial@gmail.com.

2. What This Policy Covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have regarding your information. It covers:

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

Contact Form: When you submit a message through our contact form (hosted by Google Forms), we receive the information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is processed and stored by Google on our behalf.

Newsletter Signup: If you subscribe to our mailing list through our signup form (hosted by Google Forms), we collect your email address and any other information you provide during signup. This information is processed and stored by Google on our behalf. If we use a third-party email service provider to send newsletters, your information may also be processed by that provider. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email, or by contacting us directly.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

Server Logs: Our websites are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit our websites, Cloudflare automatically collects certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This data is collected to operate and secure the websites. For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Cookies and Similar Technologies: Our websites do not set first-party cookies for analytics or tracking purposes. However, Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies for security and performance (such as bot detection). These cookies are essential to the functioning of the website and do not require consent.

3.3 Third-Party Embeds

Our websites embed YouTube videos. When you load a page containing an embedded YouTube video, YouTube (operated by Google) may collect information about your visit, including through cookies, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. This occurs even if you do not play the video. We do not control what data YouTube collects through these embeds.

3.4 Our Games

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information through Scales of Silence or any of our games. Our games do not include user accounts, telemetry, analytics, or any form of personal data collection.

Scales of Silence is built with the Unity engine. While we have disabled optional Unity services, the Unity runtime may still collect limited diagnostic or operational data as described in Unity's Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review Unity's policy for complete details.

3.5 Third-Party Platforms

When you purchase or wishlist our games on Steam or other platforms, those platforms collect and process your information under their own privacy policies. We may receive aggregated, anonymized data from these platforms (such as total wishlists or regional sales breakdowns), but we do not receive personal information that identifies you individually.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following third-party services to operate our websites and communicate with you. Each of these providers may process personal information on our behalf:

Service Provider Purpose Privacy Policy
Website hosting Cloudflare Hosting, security, performance Link
Contact form Google (Google Forms) Receiving contact messages and newsletter signups Link
Video embeds Google (YouTube) Embedded video content Link
Game distribution Valve (Steam) Game sales and distribution Link

If we use a third-party email service provider for newsletter delivery, this table will be updated to reflect that provider and their privacy policy.

These providers only process your data as necessary to deliver their services. We do not authorize them to use your information for their own marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your inquiry and to maintain a record of our communications.

Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscription, your email address is removed from our active mailing list. Residual records may be kept for a reasonable period to honor your opt-out preference.

Server logs are retained by Cloudflare in accordance with their own data retention policies.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include using HTTPS encryption across all our websites, choosing reputable third-party providers with their own security practices, and limiting access to personal information to those who need it.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. We respect these rights regardless of your location and will respond to all reasonable requests.

8.1 Rights Under Canadian Privacy Law

If you are a resident of Canada, you have the right to:

8.2 Rights Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, the right to object, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (for newsletter signups) and our legitimate interests (for website operation and responding to inquiries).

8.3 Rights Under California Law (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

How to Exercise Your Rights

9. Children's Privacy

Our websites and games are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 14 in Quebec). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at aggrogamesofficial@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

Note that Scales of Silence may be played by children under parental supervision. Since the game does not collect any personal information, no parental consent mechanism is required within the game itself.

10. International Data Transfers

Our third-party service providers (including Cloudflare and Google) may process and store data in countries outside of Canada, including the United States. When personal information is transferred outside of Quebec, we ensure that it receives adequate protection as required by applicable privacy legislation, whether through the provider's own privacy commitments, contractual safeguards, or the legal framework of the receiving jurisdiction.

11. Links to Other Websites

Our websites contain links to third-party websites and services, including Steam, Discord, and social media platforms. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice through our websites.

Your continued use of our websites and services after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
